Business Travel Awards 2019

You have until Friday, 14 September to complete and submit that all-important entry and be in with a chance of scooping an award at the industry’s biggest night of the year.

The judges will be looking at the wide range of factors that contribute to an organisation’s overall success, from innovation to performance, and from client and staff retention rates to customer satisfaction ratings. Please note that all the judges will be asked to sign non-disclosure agreements and that any information contained in your entry will remain confidential.

2019 Award Categories

  • Best Budget Hotel Brand
    Enter now

    This category is open to any hotel group or independent operator with a brand (or individual property) it classifies as ‘budget’. There are no geographical restrictions.

  • Best Midscale
    Hotel Brand Enter now

    This category is open to any hotel group or independent operator with a brand it classifies as 'midscale'. There are no geographical restrictions.

    Note: Hotel brands submitted for the budget hotel category are not eligible to enter this category.

     

  • Best Upscale
    Hotel Brand
    Enter now

    This category is open to any hotel group or independent operator with an upscale or upper upscale brand. There are no size or geographic restrictions.

  • Best Serviced Apartment Provider Enter now

    This category is open to small (minimum five locations) and large chains alike, as well as dedicated agencies. There are no geographical restrictions.

  • Best Corporate
    Social Responsibility Programme
    Enter now

    This award is open to all companies and / or organisations that have a business operation in the UK. Entrants should bear in mind that these are the Business Travel Awards so judges will be looking at travel-related elements in particular.

  • Best Ground
    Transportation Company

    Enter now

    This category is open to all UK-based companies that offer ground transport, including taxi services, chauffeur-drive, airport links (including rail) and parking services.

  • Best Car
    Rental Company

    Enter now

    This category is open to all companies that provide cars for hire.

  • Best Corporate
    Payment Provider

    Enter now

    This category is open to any company that provides corporate payment solutions. There are no geographic restrictions.

  • Best Rail
    Operator

    Enter now

    This category is open to all rail operators, including those providing airport links, national rail services and international rail services.

  • Best Short-Haul
    Airline
    Enter now

    This category is open to all short-haul airlines that provide services up to 2,000 miles (3,200 km). There are no geographic restrictions.

  • Best Long-Haul
    Airline
    Enter now

    This category is open to airlines that provide services of 2,000 miles (3,200 km) or more. There are no geographic restrictions.

  • Business Airline
    of the Year
    Enter now

    This category is open to all airlines that provide services geared to the business traveller.

    Note: Airlines who enter either the Best Short-haul or Best Long-haul Airline categories will be automatically entered into this category. 

  • Best Specialist
    Business Travel Service

    Enter now

    This category is open to all services that enhance the travel management process or traveller experience; whether by increasing service or by reducing cost. Examples of services include visa and passport services, foreign exchange, airport lounges and traveller support services.

  • Best NEW Travel
    Technology Product
    Enter now

    This category is open to all providers of travel technology products launched within the last three years that enhance the travel management process or traveller experience.  This may include expense management systems, payment tools, apps, websites and software (excluding self-booking tools for which there is a separate category). 

    Note: Updates or upgrades of existing products are not eligible.

  • Best Sales
    Account Management Team

    This category is open to all suppliers and vendors of travel and travel-related products and services. Corporate buying teams are NOT eligible for this award.

    (Less than £50 million UK annual sales)

    (£50-£200 million UK annual sales)

    This category is open to those companies that offer a full travel booking and account management service.

    The Rising Star of the Year award is a great way to recognise the future leaders in our industry.  In this category we are looking for individuals in all sectors and any job function who have been with the organisation for less than three years and have demonstrated a strong professional work ethic, and shown great potential in their organisation.

    Open to all companies and organisations and their travel management specialists, working together as a team to deliver a successful travel programme. Members of the team might include a travel buyer or procurement professional, travel manager, and representatives of their travel management company, suppliers, consultants and other service providers.

    Open to all travel buyers, travel managers and procurement officers individually responsible for the decision-making process. You can nominate yourself or a member of your team; alternatively, companies are able to nominate their corporate clients.
